Kenya: FARMDRIVE HELPING SMALLHOLDER FARMERS IN AFRICA
A Kenyan data analytics startup is helping smallholder farmers around Africa secure credit from local banks. The idea behind the startup is that a lack of capital is limiting local farmers in the ability to make protective investments on their farm. New Zealand: RAVENSDOWN TECHNOLOGY TO MAKE TOPDRESSING SAFER FOR PILOTS
Research being conducted in aerial topdressing is helping to address issues in the line of work. Ravensdown is developing technology that will allow farmers to select where to apply fertiliser via aerial topdressing. Worldwide: DEMAND FOR NON-GMMO PRODUCE ON THE RISE
The demand for organic and non-GMO foods is set to increase again this year, after researchers found a dramatic increase in demand for the year 2016. With the global organic food market expected to increase by more than 14% from 2016 to 2021, it’s clear that there is a growing need for more organic farmers. Read more >>
